Dominates ARIA singles chart and joins The Beatles in making chart history +
My Journey – debut album out tomorrow!
It has definitely been an incredible journey for Karise Eden crowned the first winner of The Voice Australia. Karise has set two records, firstly she has 4 of the Top 5 songs on the chart, something which hasn’t happened for ARIA, and the last time one act occupied so many top spots was back in April 1964 when The Beatles held the top 6 positions. The second record is something which no-one has achieved before, 3 debuts in the one week within the Top 5.
Karise debuts at # 1 on the ARIA chart with ‘Stay With Me Baby’ plus another two more debuts within the Top 10, and has a total of eight songs within the Top 40. Karise is the fourth Australian to top the ARIA charts and the first female act this decade, with the last local female artist topping our charts back in October 2009. **
Karise has had numerous #1’s on the itunes single chart and has achieved gold status for 4 of her singles available throughout The Voice. Her most recent single, an original song ‘You Won’t Let Me’ debuted at #5 this week (released after it was announced Karise had won). At this point the total amount of singles sold from the show on itunes is in excess of 15 x platinum.
Her debut album My Journey will be released tomorrow Tuesday 26th June. This album is a collection of songs Karise has performed during the show, her debut single ‘You Won’t Let Me’, plus brand new recordings of songs that have inspired her throughout her life and her journey to reach The Voice.
